A Picture Is Worth…

We have all heard the phrase, “a picture is worth a thousand words.” Be that as it may, I truly believe a picture is actually priceless as it captures a fleeting moment in time or preserves a cherished family keepsake. The memories which originate from the item are only reinforced through the narrative conveyed in the final print.

I, like many, have several cherished items handed down through the generations of our family. Regrettably, they are not on display for others to view and appreciate. The reasoning for this which I’m sure many of you can concur with and realize within the constraints of your own home fit within these two concerns.

First, the worry about the unique heirloom being damaged as it would be impossible to replace. Secondly, the decor of the home doesn’t accommodate items out for display on shelves or furniture.

Our Process

Step 1: Contact us to discuss the item.

Step 2: Commission our services.

Step 3: Pack, insure, and ship.

Step 4: Receive concepts for approval.

Step 5: Individual shoot commences.

Step 6: Review and select final image.

Step 7: Ship item back.

Step 8: Hang your one-of-a-kind fine art.

If you move frequently, the first one is a genuine concern as moving companies are notorious for dropping at least one box, and my fear has always been it will be the one I can’t replace. Additionally, we are in the process of downsizing into our forever home, and the second reason is imperative as space will be at a premium. When I mention downsizing, we are talking about at least a 40% reduction from our current 3,000 sq. ft down to 1,800 sq. ft. So excited about this stage of life and will definitely share more as we move through the process.

Consequently, our Keepsake Art services were born out of our own necessity. Clients who have struggled with the same thing have commissioned us to create one-of-a-kind archival prints to preserve the item, but more importantly, the story and memories it possesses.

Over the next few weeks, we will be adding commissioned work and examples of what a Keepsake Art shoot entails, image options, and finishing touches. We believe the photograph should make a statement as fine art and this is accomplished through the selection of matting and framing for a ready to hang collectible when It arrives at your home.
